The logistics LOCATION
The Boulder Hut is located just northwest of Kimberley, BC in the beautiful Purcell Mountains. We are the only backcountry hut in our area and are blessed with silent skies and slopes untracked by other skiiers. Clients load the helicopter a short distance up St. Mary River, a quick drive from town.
TRANSPORTATION Flights arrive daily at the CRANBROOK-KIMBERLEY AIRPORT 20 km from Kimberley. Flights originate in Calgary, Alberta and Vancouver, BC. Transport to and from the airport is by Taxi from Kimberley (long distance phone call from the airport). Kimberley is also serviced by daily arrivals of GREYHOUND BUS LINES, and of course can be reached by good all weather roads. PRE & POST TRIP ACCOMMODATIONS Reservations are recommended in the winter ski season. KIMBERLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 604-427-3666 can reserve accommodations at all motels, hotels, and bed and breakfasts in Kimberley. When making bookings for accommodations, please inform them of your arrival time and request that a taxi meet your flight. NOTE: If the pre-arranged taxi is not waiting, you will have to call one from the airport: 1-250-427-4442. MEETING PLACE Your group will meet for breakfast with our office manager Sandy Jensen the first Sunday of the tour in order to discuss logistics, sign waivers and address any remaining administrative concerns. Unless other wise arranged, the meeting place is BJ’s Restaurant: 340 Mark Street, downtown Kimberley at 8:00 am Mountain Time.
